Florida Cup Continues! Match 2: Rangers Defeat Atlético Mineiro, Match 3 Tonight
Tonight: PSV Eindhoven vs Fluminense
The Florida Cup Tournament continues tonight at Spectrum Stadium on the UCF campus with PSV Eindhoven facing historic Brazilian football club Fluminense. The Florida Cup tournament matches up different football clubs from around the world head to head in different venues in the state.
In Match 1 of this years contest on Wednesday, Brazilian powerhouse Corinthians faced PSV Eindhoven from the Netherlands at Orlando City Stadium. The match ended with a 1-1 tie after PSV scored a tiring point during stoppage time. Corinthians took the match 5-4 in penalty kicks.
The tournament continued last night’s Match 2 brought Scotland’s Rangers club face Atlético, one of the most popular clubs in Brazil. Atletico chose to play mostly young players and displayed excellent speed and skill, but they were no match for Galgow’s Rangers F.C., who took the Match 1-0 on a a second-half Josh Windass goal to seal the victory.
The Brazilians looked out of sorts all evening. The Scots were unopposed. Windass, Florida Cup’s Man of the Match, broke the deadlock in the 69th minute, as the strength and experience of Rangers proved to me unmatchable.
